  1. Rebirth of the legendary Tresor Club

    The legendary Tresor Club reopened!
Berlin's first techno club opened for the first time in 1991 in the basement vault-rooms of the Wertheim department store located in Mitte nearby the Potsdamer Platz. During the 90's it was the top address for electronic music and for the most interesting DJ’s and live acts from Europe, the Americas and Japan. In 2005 Tresor Club was finally being pushed out from its little corner of Potsdamer Platz and the land would be used to build a high-rise insurance company building.
But a few weeks ago it reopened and it is again the place to be for everyone who likes electronic music!

  2. Best Cocktails in BER

The Viktoria Bar is one of the best (my favorit) bars in town. Best drink for men: Zombie
    Best drink for women: Magharita

  4. Food with a view

In a small park on top of a hill overlooking a small lake sits this fabulous Swiss restaurant which does not offer only Swiss food, but "Swiss lifestyle". The terrace - which gets sun all day - is a great spot to relax in one of the many comfortable deck chairs to read a book or watch people. On cooler spring or fall days blankets will keep you warm. The inside also does not disappoint: warm colors, nice decoration, lots of magazines to read. Food is served for breakfast, lunch and dinner with an emphasis on Swiss cuisine. The lunch special (Euro 8) is a great deal and includes salad and a drink, otherwise expect to pay around 10 Euros for the more simple dishes and between 15 and 20 Euros for meat dishes. Not cheap but worth it. At night avoid the park and enter or leave through Veteranenstrasse.

  5. Delicious and quirky

At first sight this place looks like a hole-in-the-wall grocery store, which it actually is. "Lebensmittelladen" means grocery store in German and this store offers delicacies from Southern Germany as well as fresh produce. But the owner also serves warm dishes for lunch and dinner in a tiny dining room in the back where guests squeeze together on long wooden benches. The food is outstanding, the unique atmosphere makes it even better. This is a must for any visitor who wants to see one of places that make Berlin so unique - small, quirky and very friendly. Many items on the menu change daily, therefore recommending a specific dish is impossible.

  6. Horrible Tapas

As nice as the Melia Hotel is as horrible is the tapas bar. I usually am a really big tapas fan but the ones they serve here are too complicated and just not good. There are so many restaurants in this neighborhood, nobody should have to eat here, especially as prices are outrageous.

  7. New hotel in great location

This is a really nice hotel in a great location. The Friedrichstrasse train station is just a few steps away, many top attractions like the Reichstag are within walking distance as are many restaurants, e.g. on the Oranienbuger Strasse. The hotel just opened in the fall of 2006 and offers very affordable rates to get the business going.

  8. Watching people

Great place to hang out and have a coffee. Not to forget the great international food (from German/Swiss to Mexican) they offer. Interesting folks hanging out as well.

  9. Small internet cafe

Weltempfaenger is a small internet cafe in Berlin Mitte with cozy couches. Have a coffee and surf the internet for free as long as you want. Sometimes it is a little bit smoky. Simple menu that offers cakes and some sandwiches and soups.

  10. Great Indian food

This is a really nice Indian restaurant in Berlin Mitte. Looks and feels more like a European bistro but the food is all Indian. Most main dishes cost between 6 and 8 Euros. Sunday an All-you-can-eat Brunch is offered for 7 Euros. My personal recommendation is the Chicken Karma. Service is as great as the food - I can only recommend this place.
